  • Responsible stewardship of our environment
  • Responsibility for our employees (and external visitors)
  • Being a responsible neighbor
  • Responsibility for promoting good health

Safety, Health, and Environment are key concepts at TOP The Onion Group and contribute to the success of our facilities. All TOP The Onion Group locations comply with Safety, Health, and Environmental standards and provide all necessary resources to support them. Additionally, every possible step is taken to protect employees and others from injury and illness, safeguard the environment from pollution, and secure the premises, factories, and products against potential hazards.

TOP The Onion Group complies with the Working Conditions Act, the Environmental Management Act, and other relevant legislation. All employees within the organization are aware of their obligations and responsibilities under these laws. Together, we create a healthy and safe working environment and protect the environment by using sustainable raw materials and recycling waste. This policy provides a framework for the management of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) and is communicated to all stakeholders, including employees, visitors, contractors, and other relevant parties. Communication is facilitated through notice boards, the quality manual, and visitor registration. Furthermore, employees receive training on Safety, Health, and Environment, and contractors and suppliers are required to comply with our standards.

Zero-Accident Philosophy

Our approach to safety is reflected in our zero-accident philosophy. We believe that every accident can be prevented. We achieve this by investigating any (near) incidents using root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures. TOP The Onion Group ensures the implementation of effective monitoring, auditing, and review programs in the field of Safety, Health, and Environment. This guarantees continuous improvement and allows facilities to respond effectively to changes while ensuring the safety of people and the environment.

Environmental Responsibility

We recognize that our facilities consume natural resources and generate emissions and waste. We strive to be responsible environmental stewards by minimizing any negative impact. Our approach to environmental managementincludes:

  • Managing air emissions, water discharge, and solid waste disposal to prevent pollution
  • Promoting the efficient use of natural resources, particularly energy and water, in our operations and supply chain
  • Minimizing raw material waste and reducing, reusing, or recycling solid waste where possible
  • Reducing packaging materials used for our products while ensuring food safety and product protection
  • Preventing environmental incidents and implementing effective emergency procedures to minimize the impact of any incidents
  • Monitoring and reporting environmental performance, specifically regarding energy and water consumptionand waste production, to support continuous improvement and transparency

The environmental performance of our facilities is regularly reported, and appropriate actions are taken when necessary.

The responsibility for compliance with this policy rests with the Director of TOP The Onion Group.
