Cookie policy

What are cookies?
We use cookies on our website www.lionfoods.nl. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer and/or mobile device when you visit our website. These text files are sent along to your browser and are then stored on the hard disk or in the memory of your computer or mobile device. This allows us as the owner of our website to collect or store information about your website visit or about (the device of) you as a visitor. When you return to our website at a later time, your information is recognised and the cookies record that you visited the website again.

Why are cookies placed?
Information from cookies enables us to discover what interests you and to personalise and optimise our services for you. In doing so, we have a commercial interest. By setting cookies, we can make the structure, navigation on our website and the content of our website as user-friendly as possible. This allows you to visit our website and access information at any time and at any location.

What types of cookies are placed?
On our website, we use functional, analytical and tracking cookies. We think it is very important for you to know which cookies are used on our website and for what purposes. These can be found below. These cookies will not damage your devices.

Functional cookies
Functional cookies are set to make our website work as well as possible. Among other things, these anonymous cookies ensure that your preferences (such as language) and search results are saved. They also save your browser settings so that you can view our website optimally on your screen. No consent is required for the use of these cookies. This means it is not possible to opt-out of these cookies.

Analytical cookies
Analytical cookies are placed to investigate the use of our website and to improve our website. By using these cookies, we can map your (surfing) behaviour on our website in an anonymous way. Your personal data are not used for this purpose. This does enable us to check which parts of our website are (well) viewed and, if necessary, make adjustments. We have a commercial interest in this. We use GoogleAnalytics and Leadinfo. We have (a) processing agreements with Leadinfo. Google and Leadinfo place analytical cookies on your device. This makes it possible to determine which parts of our website are of most interest to our visitors. It also measures how many visitors come to our website. We only use your anonymised IP address for Google Analytics. Among other things, the following data is stored in our systems:

  • the number of visitors visiting our website;
  • how much time visitors spend on our website;
  • which browser is used by you;
  • from which web page you arrived at our website;
  • at what time and for how long you visit our website;
  • which pages you visit on our website;
  • completed contact forms.

You can read more about the setting of cookies by Google Analytics and Leadinfo later in our cookie policy.

Tracking cookies
Tracking cookies track your visit to our website with the aim of building a profile of our website visitors. This way, advertisements can be shown to you that you might be interested in. Your user experience is also optimised and your surfing behaviour can be tracked across multiple websites. We do this partly by using social media buttons (plugins) on our website. These share buttons allow you to interact with us through our social media channels. You can also share our posts on your social media channels. These cookies ensure the ease of use of the website and map your browsing behaviour. Finally, embedded content (a photo, video or audio file) on our website may contain (marketing) cookies. These cookies are only set when you click or play this content. Retargeting is also used for our Google Ads.

What are the other techniques?
In addition to cookies, we use JavaScripts and web beacons (via third parties). These are standard internet techniques that, together with cookies, allow a system to collect certain information, such as in our case about your interactions with our website. The collection of information is done by JavaScripts. Cookies store this information in small text files. Sending this information is done by web beacons. By using cookies and other techniques, we ensure, among other things:

  • you do not receive or have to enter the same information repeatedly when using our website;
  • we can measure the number of website visitors;
  • the effectiveness of our advertisements can be evaluated;
  • general usage patterns can be analyzed;
  • we can track how our website is used and identify which functions or topics need improvement;
  • we can offer you special functionalities;
  • we can track how often an advertisement is displayed.
