Make a delicious pizza with a homemade crust and crispy fried onions.

The best pizza is homemade and, of course, topped with crispy fried onions.

Ingredients

  • 500g flour
  • 75g dry yeast
  • 325ml warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 50g crispy fried onions
  • 200ml tomato sauce (or pizza sauce)
  • 200g grated cheese
  • 150g ham strips
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2-3 tablespoons capers

Preparation

  1. Mix the dry yeast and sugar with the warm water in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
  2. Place the flour and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  4. Mix the ingredients with a wooden spoon or your hands until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  6. While kneading, add the crispy fried onions and ensure they are evenly distributed.
  7. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl. Cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap.
  8. Let the dough rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 1-1.5 hours.
  9. Punch down the dough to release the air.
  10. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape.
  11. Place the rolled-out dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  12. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small edge for the crust.
  13. Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly over the sauce.
  14. Distribute the ham strips over the cheese.
  15. Evenly spread the red onion slices and capers over the pizza.
  16. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (430°F) for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy and the cheese is melted.

Taste and enjoy!
