Make a delicious pizza with a homemade crust and crispy fried onions.
The best pizza is homemade and, of course, topped with crispy fried onions.
Ingredients
- 500g flour
- 75g dry yeast
- 325ml warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 50g crispy fried onions
- 200ml tomato sauce (or pizza sauce)
- 200g grated cheese
- 150g ham strips
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 2-3 tablespoons capers
- Mix the dry yeast and sugar with the warm water in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
- Place the flour and salt in a large bowl.
- Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix the ingredients with a wooden spoon or your hands until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- While kneading, add the crispy fried onions and ensure they are evenly distributed.
- Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl. Cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 1-1.5 hours.
- Punch down the dough to release the air.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape.
- Place the rolled-out dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small edge for the crust.
- Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly over the sauce.
- Distribute the ham strips over the cheese.
- Evenly spread the red onion slices and capers over the pizza.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (430°F) for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy and the cheese is melted.
Taste and enjoy!
